Table Time Printable Activities
Table Time is what our family calls child-lead, interactive play at a designated table. Our youngest rarely engaged or interacted with us for over a year. He wanted us to sit with him while he played, but he didn't want us to touch any toys, or even speak. He seemed to really want interaction yet hadn't found his way of doing so. I had the wild idea of creating these hands-on, printable activities for us to do together. We called our sit-down time "Table Time" and it just stuck! Table time is for whatever he wants to do. Sometimes we play with dinosaurs, or toy cars. Some day we sing songs and count to 1,000! Most days, he wants these printable activities. The key is for your time together to be fun, child-lead, and completely voluntary! At first, he only stayed for a few minutes and rarely finished 1 activity. Within just a few weeks, he was asking for Table Time all day everyday. Now he completes 2-3 unique activities every week, doing them over and over again until he's ready for something new.
